We stayed at the Lawrence Welk Resort in Escondido. He loved the area and bought the land, it was his dream to develop a place like this there, now his family runs it... it has a theater, where we saw the king and I and it was very good, also dentist, a gas station, golf courses swimming pools , a convenience store, etc etc etc...It's in Escondido (hidden in spanish) and it's kind of hidden in the mountain, pretty place!
